DAY 1: Athens (D)

Arrive at the airport of Athens, where our representative will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel for overnight.

DAY 2: Athens (B/D)

In the morning, follow your guide to world famous Acropolis to see the architectural miracles of the Golden Age of Pericles; the Propylea, the Erechtheum, and, above all, the Parthenon (temple of Athena, goddess of wisdom). Have a panoramic view of the city and observe the Agora (market-place) where many ancient philosophers gathered and conversed. Continue with a bus-tour in the center of Athens and admire the Old Marble Olympic Stadium, the University of Athens, the Academy, the Temple of Olympian God Zeus, the Square of Constitution with the House of Parliament and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and much more. The afternoon will be at your leisure and overnight will be at the hotel.

DAY 3: Athens / Corinth / Mycenae / Nafplion / Kalavryta (B/D)

Today you begin your four-day classical tour of southern Greece. You will start with a scenic drive to the legendary canal of Corinth, where you will have a short stop for pictures. You then drive on to the Homeric city of Mycenae to see the remains of the prehistoric acropolis, the Palace, the Grave Circles and the famous bee-hive Tombs. This was the kingdom of Atreus and his son Agamemnon, the leader of the Greeks during the campaign against Troy. Continue to Epidaurus which was known in antiquity as a healing center, the place where the god of medicine Asclepius was worshipped. Nowadays, thousands of people visit the area to admire its fantastic acoustics of the theatre that is located close to the sanctuary of Asclepius. Stop at the first Capital of Greece, Nafplion. Explore the city with the unique architecture before you board your bus and arrive at Kalavryta for dinner and overnight.

DAY 4: Kalavryta / Olympia (B/D)

After breakfast we borad the coach and enjoy a scenic ride to Olympia. Upon our arrival we will visit the site admiring the splendors of this unique place, where the ancient Greek ideas of unity, truce and fair play flourished. See the impressive ruins of the temples of Hera and Zeus, the Leonidaion, the Workshop of the sculptor Phidias and of course, the famous Stadium where the running events of the Olympic Games were held. Also visit the Museum with its new display of amazing pieces of sculpture and pottery and the architectural remains of the ancient edifices. Don’t miss the pride of this museum, the “Hermes” of Praxiteles, one of the most wonderful ancient statues ever made. Check in at the hotel, dinner and overnight.

DAY 5: Olympia / Delphi (B/D)

After breakfast, we head north to Patras and drive over the new suspension bridge which connects the Peloponnese with the region of Continental Greece, in order to reach Delphi early in the evening, dinner and overnight will be in Delphi. In antiquity Delphi was known for the very popular and important oracle, the oracle of Apollo (the god of light and harmony), who spoke to the mortals through his priestess Pythia and was known for the oblique nature of his prophecies. Walk up the Sacred Way to see the Treasuries, the Theater and the Temple of Apollo, next to which was the exact spot that was believed to be the “navel” (omphalos) of the earth. Visit the museum of Delphi and marvel at the splendid collection of artifacts from the excavation, including the bronze “Charioteer” one of the best, preserved ancient works of metallurgy. We then continue to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 6: Delphi / Athens (B/D)

After breakfast, leave Delphi and visit Arachova, a traditional village on Mountain Parnassos. After this continue to Livadia and Thebes to Athens. Upon your arrival you will visit two of the most modern venues: The Foundation of The Hellenic World to watch a 3D interactive and thematic activity related to the Ancient Greek World. After this you will be transferred to Stavros Niarchos Foundation to explore the New Library and many more. You will return to the hotel in the afternoon for dinner and overnight.

DAY 7: Athens / Marathon/ Cape Sounion (B/D)

After breakfast you will board your coach and travel through Athenian Riviera to Marathon to see the battlefield of the famous battle, the Tomb and the Museum. Then you will drive to Cape Sounion, the southeastern extremity of Attica. Admire there a magnificent and spectacular marble temple from 5th BC, dedicated to Poseidon (the god of the sea). Return to Athens for your farewell dinner which will take place at a Greek taverna with live music and dancing. We then return to our hotel for our last overnight in Athens.

DAY 8: Piraeus / Mykonos (B/L/D)

After breakfast you will embark the cruise ship. After spending time at sea, the first port of call would be the island of Mykonos. A cosmopolitan paradise that attracts more than its fair share of beautiful people, Mykonos Town is the archetypal image of the Cyclades, with immaculate whitewashed houses, windmills and winding alleys. Take the free shuttle bus and enjoy the atmosphere of the island before you will return on board for dinner and overnight.

DAY 9: Kusadasi (Turkey) / Patmos (B/L/D)

This beach resort town is famous for its beautiful marina and its colorful bazaar but principally because of its proximity to the Hellenistic ruins of Ephesus, the ancient city famed for the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Visit the archaeological site of ancient Ephesus (included tour), one of the largest open air museums in the world. See incredible relics of the Hellenistic, Roman and early Christian eras. Discover the Agora, the Odeon, the Library of Celsus and the beautifully preserved marble- paved main Street of Kouretes. Return to the ship for lunch, time at sea and in the afternoon, you will be in the island of Patmos. Take the optional tour to visit the visit the Cave of the Apocalypse and the hilltop Monastery of Saint John the Theologian, both declared World Heritage Sites by UNESCO in 1999. Return to the ship for dinner and overnight.

DAY 9: Rhodes (B/L/D)

A visit to the old city of Rhodes is like stepping back to the time of the Crusades as you stroll the polished cobblestones of the Street of the Knights and explore the medieval Palace of the Grand Masters. Our included tour begins with the Acropolis of Lindos, 55 km (40 miles) from the city of Rhodes, to see the graceful Temple of Athena, built in 300 B.C. Back in the old city of Rhodes, you will walk through D’Amboise Gate and along the perfectly preserved Street of the Knights to discover the medieval residence of each order of the Knights of St John, still bearing the original crests to the acropolis of Lindos, perched high on a hilltop overlooking the sparkling Bay of St Paul.

DAY 10: Heraklion (Crete) / Santorini (B/L/D)

The busy capital of Crete is a former Venetian harbor with a history dating back even further, to the time of the Minoans. Visit (included tour) Knossos, once home to Europe’s oldest civilization and the setting of the legend of Theseus and the Minotaur and delve further into the art and creativity of the Minoans at the city’s extraordinary Archaeological Museum. Return to the ship for lunch and time at sea. In the afternoon you will be in Santorini. Sprinkled like sugar over sheer, black volcanic cliffs, Santorini’s whitewashed capital, Fira, is a sight to behold. Wander the narrow streets or venture along the clifftop to pretty Oia for that iconic shot of the blue- domed church. Your ship will spend the evening in port, so take a ringside seat in a clifftop bar to watch the fiery sunset. Take the optional tour and head up the black, volcanic cliff face of Santorini and drive to Oia, perched on the very edge of the caldera. This beautiful little town has stylish shops and restaurants and arguably the best views of Santorini, not least the island’s famous whitewashed churches with their sky-blue domes, the Aegean glittering far below. Return to the ship for dinner and overnight.

DAY 10: Piraeus Port / Athens Airport (B)

After breakfast and According to the schedule of your return flight you will be taken to the airport of Athens.
